As CEB HR Practice Leader, Dr. Brian Kropp works with Chief Human Resource Officers, Heads of Compensation and Heads of Benefits to develop strategic plans to attract, manage and retain their top talent. Specifically, Brian spends much of his time working with CEB members on leadership, employee engagement and labor market trends. Brian is committed to helping organizations maximize employee performance while creating a culture that rewards employees for their effort.
Brian knows what keeps senior HR executives up at night and how progressive leaders have solved their biggest challenges. His wealth of knowledge regarding workforce trends has been featured by notable publications including The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Businessweek and Human Resource Executive. He's regularly asked to comment on employee engagement, performance management, leadership and workforce trends.
Previously, Brian worked for a variety of research institutions and taught courses in economics, policy analysis and quantitative methods at the University of North Carolina. His work has been published in several books, academic journals and other periodicals. Brian holds a Ph.D. in policy analysis from the University of North Carolina and an M.A. and B.S. in Economics from Clemson University.
When he's not focused on helping HR leaders solve their pressing challenges, Brian is active in his community working with several non-profits. Brian was born in South Africa and raised in Virginia, where he now lives with his wife and three children.
